How to plan a private poker night

By Elliott Deals Poker

The short answer

Pick a date, tell Elliott where the game will be and roughly how many people are coming, and supply a room and your guests. The dealer arrives with the table, cards, and chips. One table seats up to ten players. Metro nights are $400 for three hours. Metro: $525 for four hours. Foothills: $625 for four hours. Colorado Springs: $725 for four hours. Mountain: $775 for four hours. Destination: $1,025 + lodging for four hours. Beyond 4 hours: by quote.

Space and seating

Start by sharing your room layout and any access constraints with Elliott so you can confirm the table setup before booking.

Suggestions that tend to help: a clear path from where a vehicle can stop to the room, a spot where people can walk around the table, and somewhere nearby for drinks and food so they stay off the felt. Stairs, narrow doorways, or a long carry are worth mentioning early. These are suggestions, not requirements.

Chairs at the venue are helpful. If you do not have enough, Elliott can bring chairs for an added fee; ask about it in your request.

Player count

The table seats up to ten players. If your list is longer, the game can run in rotations, or you can discuss spreading the group over multiple nights. Mention the larger number in advance.

One idea for a big group: decide before the night how people will rotate in, so nobody waits wondering when their turn comes. That is a suggestion for hosts, not a rule.

What is supplied

The dealer, poker table, cards, and chips are included. You supply the space and your guests; discuss chairs when booking.

Beginners at the table

Yes, new players are welcome. Elliott walks everyone through the basics casually at the start, so no one is put on the spot and experienced players are not left waiting. Tell us the mix of experience in your group and whether you prefer a cash game, a tournament, or chip-only play.

Choosing a package

In the Denver metro, $400 covers three hours and $525 covers four. Consider three hours for a shorter evening, or four if you want more time for play and breaks. Choose around your guests’ plans rather than trying to guarantee a number of hands.

For a four-hour evening, choose the travel zone below. Destination lodging is additional; trips beyond four hours are by quote. Additional hours are $100 each.

Four-hour packages include the dealer, table, cards, and chips. The base package is $525, plus travel where applicable. Select “View pricing” for your area's travel fee and total; Destination lodging is additional.
